Softball Report (Week 3) - Anderson's Trip Highlighted by Crowe's No-Hitter

GREENWOOD, IN- Anderson University's softball team capped off a weeklong trip in Florida, winning five of their last six games.  The Ravens played a total of 12 games in Kissimmee, finishing with a 7-5 mark.

The week was highlighted by a no-hitter from sophomore pitcher Monica Crowe (Muncie, Ind./Wes-Del).  In an 8-0 win over Hood Saturday, the sophomore struck out 10 of the 18 batters she faced and did not allow a single hit in the five inning win.

Crowe finished the trip with a 3-3 record, posting a 0.90 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 39.0 innings of work.

During the 12 game trip, sophomore catcher Stephanie Atkins (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) led the offense.  The sophomore finished the week with a .412 average at the plate (14-for-34) with 10 runs scored, four doubles, a triple, three home runs, and six RBI.

Anderson (7-5, 0-0 HCAC) welcomes No. 10 Ohio Northern to town tomorrow afternoon before opening the HCAC schedule Saturday against Defiance.
