Softball Report (Week 5) - Rose Stands 3-1 in HCAC Play After Split with Anderson

GREENWOOD, IN- Rose-Hulman and Anderson split a doubleheader yesterday evening in Terre Haute after a storm delay in the second contest.  The Engineers won the first game 3-2, while the Ravens returned the favor with a 3-2 win in game two.

Rose-Hulman's Kristin Greer (Batavia, Ohio/H.S.) provided all of the Engineer's offense with one swing of the bat in game one.  Greer hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Engineers a 3-2 lead.

Jordan Goslee (St. Joseph, Mich./H.S.) pitched a complete-game with 10 strikeouts, allowing five hits and two runs against the Ravens in the game one win.

In game two, Anderson rallied to tie the score at 2-2 entering the bottom of the sixth.  Prior to the first pitch of the inning, a thunderstorm caused a delay of two hours and 26 minutes prior to the resumption of the matchup.

Anderson catcher Stephanie Atkins (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to give the Ravens a 3-2 victory and a split of the doubleheader.  Atkins also hit a two-run home run in the game one loss.
