Softball Report (Week 8) - Rain Postpones Many HCAC Contests
GREENWOOD, IN- Last week's softball schedule was cut short due to weather, with only three series playing a full doubleheader. Rose-Hulman (13-19, 6-8 HCAC) claimed a 3-1 record during the week, earning a sweep of Franklin and a split with Hanover.
The Engineers were led at the plate and in the circle by senior Kyla Lutz (Tennyson, Ind./Boonville) during the week. Lutz finished the week 7-of-13 (.538) with five runs scored, three RBI, a .615 slugging percentage, and a team-high .600 on-base percentage at the dish to lead the RHIT offense.
The senior pitcher also added two victories on the mound during the week, tossing a pair of complete game wins with a 5.00 earned run average.
In other action, Anderson (18-12, 8-4 HCAC) and Bluffton (17-14, 9-5 HCAC) split their doubleheader Saturday. The Ravens currently occupy the No. 2 slot in the standings, while the Beavers stand third in the league.
