Softball Report (Week 5) - Anderson Opens HCAC Play With Sweep of Franklin

GREENWOOD, IN- Anderson University opened the conference schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Franklin College Sunday.  The Ravens (9-2, 2-0 HCAC) won the first contest 10-2 and finished the series with an 8-4 win over the Grizzlies (10-8, 0-2 HCAC).

Junior shortstop Nichole Frazier (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) led the Ravens offense during a two-game sweep. The junior finished the week 5-for-7 (.714) with four runs scored, two home runs, six RBI, and a 1.714 slugging percentage.

In the circle, sophomore Sami Frazier (Greenfield, Ind./H.S.) led the Ravens in game one.  The sophomore tossed a complete game, allowing five hits and one earned run with three strikeouts in the victory.  Frazier finished the week 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA. 

Anderson will face Manchester, St. Mary's, Defiance, and Hiram in doubleheaders this week.

In other HCAC action...

Bluffton posted a HCAC doubleheader sweep of Rose-Hulman on Sunday.  The Beavers (13-7, 3-1 HCAC) took the first contest 4-3 and finished the sweep of the Engineers (5-5, 2-2 HCAC) with an 11-3 win.
