Kendra DeArk, Transylvania University, Softball (Pitcher)

Transylvania's Kendra DeArk (Jefferson, Ind./H.S.) threw a complete game shutout against No. 13 ranked DePauw and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. 

The junior pitcher led TU to a 2-0 win over the previously unbeaten Tigers, striking out eight and allowing only five hits.  

DeArk made two starts and had four appearances in the Maryville Invitational, posting a 2-1 record with a 1.59 ERA in 17.2 innings of work.  She allowed 16 hits and four earned runs with 18 strikeouts during the week.

The Pioneers (2-2, 0-0 HCAC) head to Kissimmee, Florida for a nine game spring trip beginning Friday.
