Megan Mitchell, Transylvania University, Softball (Hitter)

Transylvania University’s Megan Mitchell (Buck Creek, Ind./Wm. Henry Harrison) helped the Pioneers clinch their second consecutive HCAC regular season championship with a 5-1 mark last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week for the fourth time. 

The freshman finished the week 11-for-22 (.500) with four home runs and 11 RBI, while posting a slugging percentage of 1.045 and an on-base percentage of .722. 

For the season, Mitchell set a new school single season record with 16 home runs and tied the season RBI record with 58. 

Top seeded Transylvania (31-9, 14-2 HCAC) will face No. 4 seed Manchester at 12:00 PM Friday in the opening round of the HCAC Softball Tournament in Lexington.
