Transylvania sophomore pitcher Kameron Bowling (Louisville, Ky. / Holy Cross) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Bowling pitched three shutouts this week for the Pioneers for a total of 34.1 innings, appearing in seven of Transylvania’s eight wins this week as the Pioneers expanded a season-best winning streak to 12 games. The sophomore pitched four complete games in total and recorded 37 strikeouts for an average of 7.54 strikeouts per contest. For the week, Bowling went 6-0 with one save and a 0.61 earned run average.
The Transylvania Pioneers (26-5, 7-1 HCAC) will host DePauw for a doubleheader on Tuesday before playing as the No. 2 seed in the HCAC Softball Championship on Thursday.
