Women's Basketball Report (Week 5) - Defiance Claims DC Tournament Crown

GREENWOOD, IN -Defiance College (7-4, 2-2 HCAC) finished the week 3-0 and won the Defiance College Hubbard Co.- Pro Rehab Tournament.  The Jackets defeated Wooster 77-63 before posting wins over Albion and Wilmington to capture the tournament crown.

Senior center Mandie White (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf) scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds against Wooster to lead the Defiance effort.  White was named the HCAC Player of the week after averaging 16.3 points and nine rebounds per game during the week.

Sophomore guard Shavonda Price (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Southside) led the scoring in both tournament games.  Price netted 17 points in the 73-56 win over Albion and added 19 points in the 70-62 victory over Wilmington.

Defiance travels to Ohio Northern tonight in its final game before the holiday break.
