Women's Basketball Report (Week 5) - Transy Falls to BWC in Title Game

GREENWOOD, IN - Transylvania University (6-4, 2-2 HCAC) fell in the championship game of the Transylvania Classic Saturday evening, snapping a three game win streak.  The Pioneers earned an 80-62 win over Muskingum before falling to Baldwin-Wallace in the title game. 

In Transy's win over Muskingum, the Pioneers stormed out to a 10 point advantage at the break.  Senior center Holly Milburn (Georgetown, Ky./Scott Co.) led the effort with her third double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and adding 11 rebounds.  Milburn finished 8-of-14 from the floor, including a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line.

In Saturday's 75-66 loss to Baldwin-Wallace, TU let a five point half time lead slip away in the second half as the visitors outscored the hosts 45-31.  Milburn netted a season high 22 points and added three rebounds and three steals to lead the Pioneers in the loss.  

Transy will return to the court after Christmas as the Pioneers travel to Spalding on December 30 in their final non-conference contest.
