Women's Basketball Report (Week 12) - Hanover Set for Showdown with Franklin

GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College (19-1, 13-1 HCAC) picked up a pair of wins during the week to run its win streak to seven straight.  The Panthers notched wins over Mount St. Joseph and Bluffton on the road and can clinch at least a share of the HCAC title and the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament with a win over Franklin Wednesday evening.  The Grizzlies have won nine straight heading into tomorrow's showdown.

Senior center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind./North) has been red hot down the stretch, posting five straight double-doubles heading into the Franklin game.  In Wednesday's 98-71 win over Mount, Martin scored 28 points and added 10 rebounds.

On Saturday, Martin scored 20 points and pulled down 13 boards in HC's 78-71 win at Bluffton.  The senior currently ranks second in the HCAC in both points (17.3 ppg) and rebounds (10.1 rpg) per contest.

The Panthers will welcome rival Franklin to town tomorrow night for a 7:30 PM tip.  Franklin handed HC their only defeat this season, pulling out a 63-61 win at the Spurlock Center on January 12.

A Hanover win will clinch at least a share of the conference title and secure the top seed and right to host the upcoming HCAC women's basketball tournament.
