Women's Basketball Report (Week 10) - Bluffton Runs Win Streak to Four Straight

GREENWOOD, IN - Bluffton University (6-11, 4-6 HCAC) racked up two more wins to run its win streak to four in a row.  The Beavers defeated Manchester and Rose-Hulman at home and now stand No. 6 in the HCAC standings.

Junior forward Lauren Hutton (New Riegel, Ohio/H.S.) led the Beavers in the two wins during the week, missing out on a pair of double-doubles by a single rebound as the Beavers posted their third and fourth consecutive HCAC wins. 

Hutton scored 19 points and added nine rebounds in Bluffton's 54-50 win over Manchester Wednesday evening.  She followed that performance with 15 points and nine rebounds in a 70-62 win over Rose-Hulman Saturday.

Bluffton will try and keep the win streak going this week as the Beavers play host to Earlham Wednesday and travel to first place Franklin Saturday.

In other action...

Franklin College (16-1, 9-1 HCAC) moved up to No. 15 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll after earning home wins over Rose-Hulman and Earlham.

Senior Sarah Condra (Nineveh, Ind./Whiteland) led the scoring with 24 points, six rebounds, and three assists in an 81-65 win over Earlham Saturday.  Condra currently leads the HCAC in scoring this winter, averaging 18.7 points per contest.

The Grizzlies will look to remain atop the standings as they tangle with Transylvania and red hot Bluffton this week.

Hanover College (13-3, 9-1 HCAC) kept pace with the Grizzlies and remain deadlocked at the top of the HCAC race.  The Panthers have now won seven-straight games after earning road wins over Anderson and Defiance last week.

Junior center Courtney Prater (Anderson, Ind./Lapel) averaged 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the two wins. Prater posted 18 points with four rebounds in a 74-66 win at Defiance and added 22 points with 12 rebounds in an 86-67 win at Anderson.

The Panthers will entertain Mount St. Joseph and Manchester at home this week.
