GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College moved into a three-way tie for third in the league standings following a pair of home wins last week. The Panthers snapped a two game losing streak with wins over Mount St. Joseph and Manchester.
In Hanover's 72-54 win over Mount St. Joseph, junior guard Caitlin Bischoff (Atlanta, Ind./Hamilton Heights) scored 18 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to lead HC.
On Saturday, Hanover closed out the week with an impressive 83-64 win over Manchester. Junior Megan Caudill (Richmond, Ind./H.S.) led the Panthers with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five steals.
Hanover will close the first half of the league schedule at Rose-Hulman Wednesday night.
In other action...
Transylvania University (14-1, 8-0 HCAC) remained unblemished in HCAC action and moved its win streak to 13 following victories over Earlham and Bluffton. The Pioneers currently hold a two-game lead over Franklin in the HCAC standings.
Junior guard Nicole Coffman (Liberty, Ky./Casey Co.) scored 27 points with six rebounds and four assists in a 101-66 triumph over Earlham Wednesday. Coffman added 28 points along with six rebounds in a 103-77 win over Bluffton Saturday afternoon.
Franklin College (8-7, 6-2 HCAC) continued its hold on the second spot in the standings after earning a split last week. The Grizzlies beat Rose-Hulman 51-31 prior to falling at home to Defiance 57-54 on a last second shot by the Yellow Jackets. The Grizzlies will face first place Transylvania Wednesday night in Lexington.
Manchester and Rose-Hulman sit alongside Hanover in the three-way tie for third in the league standings. The Spartans (8-7, 5-3 HCAC) and Engineers (7-8, 5-3 HCAC) each earned a split last week.
