GREENWOOD, IN - Transylvania University continued its win streak with a 3-0 record over the holiday break. The Pioneers (10-1, 4-0 HCAC) posted a pair of wins in Arizona over Pacific Lutheran and Southern Maine and returned to HCAC play with a dominating 90-58 win over Anderson Saturday.
In Transy's 63-52 win over Pacific Lutheran, the Pioneers outscored the Lutes 36-22 in the second half to secure the win. Freshman guard Jordin Fender (Lexington, Ky./Dunbar) scored 18 points with five rebounds and four steals off the bench to lead Transy.
Junior forward Alex McKenzie (Georgetown, Ky./Scott Co.) scored 18 points with 16 rebounds in TU's 68-56 win over Southern Maine and added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Anderson.
Transylvania has won nine straight games and has not lost since a November 16 loss to Maryville (TN). The Pioneers will face Hanover and Manchester in league play this week.

Manchester University (7-4, 4-0 HCAC) remained perfect in league play with an 83-46 win over Mount St. Joseph Saturday. The Spartans also competed at Albion over the holiday break, defeating the hosts 42-40, while falling to Olivet 83-70. Sophomore guard Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) averaged 11.3 points per game during the three game span.
Franklin College (5-6, 3-1 HCAC) improved to 3-1 in conference action following a 67-56 home victory over Earlham. The Grizzlies received 15 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks from sophomore forward Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) in the win.
Hanover College (5-6, 3-1 HCAC) kept pace with Franklin in the standings, beating Defiance 72-62 in league play. The Panthers were also busy over the break, earning a split at the DePauw Holiday Tournament. HC opened with a 77-70 loss to Ithaca, but concluded the event with a 79-71 triumph over Alma.
