INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Transylvania defeated Rose-Hulman last week to claim the top spot of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with an 11-1 league record.
The Transylvania Pioneers are currently on a 12-game win streak and garnered two victories last week over Hanover and Rose-Hulman. Earlier on Tuesday, the Transylvania women's basketball moved up three spots on the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll at No. 22. Pios guard Shelby Boyle led Transy last week and averaged 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the week.
Rose-Hulman women's basketball team went 1-1 last week with a victory over Mount St. Joseph and a loss against Transylvania. Forward Ally Bromenshenkel recorded 21 points in each game last week for the Fightin' Engineers while averagin 9.5 rebounds per game.
In a 1-1 week for the Hanover Panthers, Alexis Nall averaged 26.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. The junior also made 15-of-16 free throws while adding 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists per contest. Against Bluffton on Saturday, Nall recorded a career-high 34 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field. For the week, the junior notched a 58.1 field goal percentage and 1.5 blocks per game.
