Defending HCAC Champs Transy Chosen to Repeat in 2019-20

CARMEL, Ind. – The defending Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Champions, Transylvania University, were picked as the overwhelming favorite to repeat in the 2019-20 season, with eight first place nods in a vote amongst league coaches.

The Pioneers earned the vote of confidence from the conference coaches following a season where Transy shattered records, boasting a league mark of 17-1 (27-3 overall), advancing to the 'Sweet 16' of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament. Transylvania picked up 90 points in the poll, edging Hanover College who was picked to finish second with 88 points while also receiving one first place vote. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (62), last season's HCAC runners-up, earned the third-place spot in the poll, also claiming one first place vote. Anderson University (59) and Franklin College (54) rounded out the top half, finishing in fourth and fifth respectively.
