Olivia Akridge, Transylvania University, Women's Basketball
Transylvania University's Olivia Akridge (Eddyville, Ky./Lyon Co.) led the Pioneers into first place of the conference standings with a pair of HCAC road wins last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior guard led the team with 22 points, including 16 of 17 from the free throw line, to go with four rebounds and four assists in a 79-71 win over Mount St. Joseph. In Transy's 56-48 win at Manchester, Akridge led the way with 13 points to go with four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
For the week, the junior averaged 17.5 points, four rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
Transylvania (11-5, 6-2 HCAC) will travel to Bluffton Saturday.
