Women's Golf Report (Week 2) - Transy Finishes 2nd at Centre and 3rd at Hanover

GREENWOOD, IN - The Transylvania University women's golf team finished the week with a second place finish at Centre on September 10 and a third place finish at the nine-team Hanover Invitational this past weekend.  The Pioneers led all seven competing HCAC schools and finished behind Marian (IN) and Centre in the team standings.

Transy's Janca Millett (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) earned medalist honors at the 18-hole Centre Invitational held at the Danville Country Club in Danville, Kentucky.  Millett fired a round of 75 to hold off the second-place finisher by two strokes.  The Pioneers finished second behind Bellarmine University with an 18 hole total of 334.

TU returned to the links at Hanover, finishing with a two-day total of 671.  Sophomore Megan Foley (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Christian) led all HCAC golfers with a second place finish, firing rounds of 71 and 83.  Millett finished third in the standings with a 159.

Hanover College finished fourth in the team standings and was led by Rebecca Roberts (Avon, Ind./H.S.).  Roberts finished fifth with rounds of 82 and 79.  Hanover also competed at the Centre Invitational, placing fourth in the five team event.

Franklin College finished fifth at Hanover, while Rose-Hulman, Anderson, Defiance, and Mount St. Joseph rounded out the team standings.

Transylvania will welcome Hanover, Franklin, Mount St. Joseph, and Rose-Hulman to Lexington for the Transylvania Invitational today, while Manchester College welcomes Anderson and Defiance to town this weekend for the Manchester Invitational.
