Women's Golf Report (Week 1) - Hanover Leads HCAC Field at Anderson Invite
GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College's women's golf team led the seven competing HCAC schools at the Anderson Invitational with a second place finish this past weekend. The Panthers finished behind DePauw University in the team standings.
Hanover finished the 36-hole event, held at Killbuck Golf Club, with a two-day score of 647. Molly Burpo (Martinsville, Ind./H.S.) led HC with rounds of 80 and 75 to finish tied for fourth among all individuals with a 159.
Transylvania's Janca Millett (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) was the top HCAC finisher at the event, firing rounds of 77 and 79 to finish second with a 156. The Pioneers placed third in the eight team event, finishing six shots behind Hanover.
Franklin, Manchester, Anderson, and Defiance rounded out the team standings. Rose-Hulman did not post a team score at the event.
This weekend, six conference schools will be competing on the links at the Hanover Invitational on September 11-12.
