GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College won an event for the second consecutive week, claiming the title at the eight team Hanover Invitational. The Panthers held off second place Indiana Tech at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana.
Hanover claimed five of the top six spots at the tournament, totaling a 36-hole total 650. Paige Schroeder (Jasper, Ind./H.S.) led HC with a pair of 80's to finish third overall in the individual standings.
Freshman Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind./H.S.) finished two strokes behind Schroeder with a 162, placing fifth in the standings.
Transylvania placed fourth at the tournament with a total of 671. The Pioneers had a trio of golfers finish tied for sixth with a total of 166.
Anderson, Rose-Hulman, and Mount St. Joseph rounded out the team standings at the event.
In other action, Franklin College competed at the Indiana University Fall Kickoff. The Grizzlies placed sixth as a team at the event, posting a two-round total of 686.
Junior Avery Brown (Greenfield, Ind./Central) led the blue and gold with rounds of 85 and 80, placing 22nd overall.
This weekend, four conference schools will be competing at the Manchester Invitational on September 17-18. Hanover will travel north to Muncie for the Ball State Invitational, while Franklin and Rose-Hulman will take part at Illinois Wesleyan.
