GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester University placed second at the six-team Manchester Invitational on Saturday. The Spartans finished behind champion Trine University in the team standings.
Sophomore Kaitlin Powers (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) led all HCAC golfers at the tournament. The sophomore placed sixth overall in the individual standings with a round of 88.
As a team, Manchester totaled 372 to place second. Defiance finished fifth, while Anderson and Mount St. Joseph did not post a team score.
Hanover and Rose-Hulman were also in action over the weekend, competing at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic. Hanover finished eighth overall, while Rose placed 11th at the 13-team event.
Hanover's Erika Shepherd (Jeffersonville, Ind./H.S.) was the top finishing HCAC athlete at the meet, finishing in a tie for 33rd with a two round total of 170 (87-83).
This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Rose-Hulman Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
