GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's golf team placed second in the Olivet College Labor Day Classic last weekend. The Fightin' Engineers led the the four team HCAC field by eight strokes.
Sophomore Rebecca Su (St. Louis, Mo. / Parkway West) led the Rose-Hulman performance with a fourth place finish overall with rounds of 80 and 94.
The Hanover College Panthers placed third in the Labor Day Classic and were led by sophomore Maddie Cody (Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg). Cody shot a 79 in the first round of the tournament, and on Sunday shot a 75 defeating the field by four strokes and earning medalist honors for the first time in her career.
Franklin College finished fifth with a team total of 782 strokes, and Defiance College finished sixth with a total of 832 strokes at the Labor Day Classic.
Earlham and Bluffton participated in the two-team Beaver Fall Classic with the Quakers taking home the victory. Earlham defeated the Beavers at last week's match by over 200 strokes.
Manchester traveled to the Mount St. Joseph Invitational and finished first out of five teams. The Mount St. Joseph Lions finished second only 15 strokes behind Manchester.
Transylvania competed in the Lynn Schweizer Invitational and finished third out of 13 teams only 13 strokes behind the leader. Leading the way for the Pioneers was Meredith Moir (Louisville, Ky. / Sacred Heart) who finished in a tie for fourth with a stroke total of 154.
This weekend, Hanover College will host the Hanover Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
