GREENWOOD, Ind. - Hanover College earned the title at the Hanover Invitational over the weekend. The Panthers held off Rose-Hulman by six strokes to earn the title at the home invitational.
Sophomore Allison Goodwin (Lebanon, Ind. / Lebanon) earned medalist honors to lead the Panthers lineup. The sophomore shot a 78 in the first round of the tournament, and on Sunday shot an 81 for a tournament total of 159.
As a team, Hanover totaled 657, while Rose-Hulman finished with a 663.
Manchester senior Katie Smith (Wabash, Ind. / Wabash) finished in a tie for second in the individual standings, totaling a score of 160 (78-82) at the 36-hole event.
Rose-Hulman senior Ashton Foushee (Glasgow, Ky. / Glasgow) and Hanover senior Scarlett Hartlage (Floyds Knobs, Ind. / Floyd Central) finished in a tie for fourth (163 strokes) in the individual standings to round out the top five at the Hanover Invitational.
Manchester University placed fourth in the standings with a total score of 702 after the 36-hole weekend event. Franklin College placed fifth (716), Mount St. Joseph placed seventh (732), and Earlham followed in eighth place (751) out of nine competitors in the final standings.
This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Heidelberg Invitational and Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic.
