Women's Golf Report - Manchester Leads HCAC Teams at Heidelberg Invitational

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Manchester University placed sixth at the Heidelberg Invitational this past weekend where four other HCAC schools were in attendance. 

Senior Katie Smith (Wabash, Ind. / Wabash) led all HCAC golfers at the tournament. The senior placed ninth overall in the individual standings with a 36-hole total of 171.

As a team, Manchester totaled 722 to place sixth.  Earlham finished eleventh (758), Mount St. Joseph placed 12th (765), Defiance finished 13th (813), and Bluffton did not post a team score.

Hanover and Rose-Hulman were also in action over the weekend, competing at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic.  Rose-Hulman finished seventh overall, while Hanover placed 10th at the 16-team event.

Rose-Hulman's Lauren Conley (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington) posted rounds of 79 and 78 at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic to finish 18th out of a field of 100 golfers. The freshman's efforts helped Rose-Hulman set a 36-hole team scoring record with 638 strokes.

This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Transylvania Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
