INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Five Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's golf teams participated in the Beaver Fall Classic last weekend.
Anderson, Defiance, Franklin, and Manchester all traveled to Bluffton, Ohio over the weekend to participate in the Beaver Fall Classic hosted by Bluffton University.
At the two day event, Franklin finished in second place out of the field of eight with a team total of 690, only three strokes behind first place Ohio Northern. Manchester University garnered a fourth place finish and 13 strokes behind the Grizzlies.
Manchester and Franklin each had two women's golfers finish in the top 10, and their top performers tied for second place after 36 holes. Manchester's Kaitlyn Cook (77, 83) and Franklin's Megg Hensler (82, 78) each tallied 160 strokes at the two day invite.
Defiance College placed sixth with a team score of 807, Anderson finished seventh (850 strokes), and Bluffton placed eighth with a stroke total of 855 at the invite.
Mount St. Joseph University placed third at the Millikin Dechery Classic over the weekend in the field of eight teams. The Lions were led by Emma Schrand with a 36-hole score of 160 strokes and a fourth place finish in the tournament.
Earlier this week, Transylvania University was able to travel to Houston, Texas to particpate in the NCAA Preview Tournament at Bay Oaks Country Club. The Pioneers earned a 12th place finish and were led by Meredith Moir. The senior placed 13th out of 101 golfers with a two-round score of 157 strokes.
