Women's Soccer Report (Week 8) - Hanover Posts Record Breaking Win over Defiance

GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College moved a few steps closer to a conference championship and set a new single-season school record for victories with wins over Franklin and Defiance last week.  The Panthers (11-4-1, 6-1 HCAC) sit in a three way tie for first place in the conference standings with one game to play.

Kelly McRoberts (Louisville, Ky./Manual) scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Defiance and added her third goal of the week in a 5-0 defeat of Franklin College.  Hanover can clinch at least a share of the conference title with a win over Manchester Saturday.

Rose-Hulman (7-8, 6-1 HCAC) and Transylvania (10-5-1, 6-1 HCAC) sit along side Hanover in first place.  The Engineers beat Bluffton 2-1 last week, while the Pioneers handed Franklin a 3-0 defeat.  Both Rose and Transy have Mount St. Joseph left of the schedule.  The Lions (10-4-2, 5-1 HCAC) remain in contention for the conference championship as well, but will have to beat two of the top teams to do so.

Hanover, Rose-Hulman, Transylvania, and Mount St. Joseph have all secured a spot in the four team HCAC tournament which begins Wednesday, November 4.
