Women's Soccer Report (Week 5) - Rose-Hulman Nets First Two Victories of 2009

GREENWOOD, IN - The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team ended a rough start to the season with two wins this past week.  The Engineers began the season 0-7 before marking wins over St. Mary of the Woods and Defiance.  RHIT now sits 1-1 in league play.

Junior Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day) scored a pair of goals in each of the Engineer wins, defeating SMWC 3-0 and Defiance 3-2.  Previously, Rose had only scored two goals during the seven game losing streak. 

Transylvania continued its solid play, improving their conference record to 3-0 with a 1-0 double-overtime win over Manchester.  Kristin Tenhundfeld (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) scored the game's only goal in the 106th minute of action to deliver the visiting Pioneers the win.

In other conference action last week...Anderson split a pair of contests, defeating Franklin 1-0 and falling to Hanover 4-0.  The Franklin women rebounded from the loss to Anderson, handing visiting Bluffton a 1-0 loss Saturday.
