Women's Soccer Report (Week 5) - Earlham Posts First HCAC Win

GREENWOOD, IN - The Earlham women's soccer team posted their first HCAC win last week and has not lost a contest since a 6-0 loss to Johns Hopkins on September 12.  The Quakers (6-3-1, 1-0 HCAC) defeated Wilmington 2-0 in non-conference play before handing Anderson a 5-1 defeat Saturday.

Sophomore Cate Simmermaker (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) scored the game-winner from 35-yards out in the Quakers win over Wilmington and added her second goal of the week against Anderson.

Transylvania continued its solid play, improving their conference record to 2-0 with a 4-0 win over Bluffton.  The Pioneers fell at Wittenberg 3-2 in overtime in a non-conference tilt earlier in the week.

Freshman forward Amy Ghilbaudy (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) found the back of the net three times last week.  Ghilbaudy scored a goal in the loss to Wittenberg and added a pair of goals in the win over Bluffton.

In other conference action last week...Hanover moved to 2-0 in league play with a 1-0 win over Defiance. Mount St. Joseph also stands 2-0 after an impressive 4-1 victory at Rose-Hulman.  Manchester found the win column in league play, defeating Franklin at home 2-0.
