GREENWOOD, IN - The Franklin women's soccer team netted three victories to begin the 2010 season and stand along side Transylvania as the only unbeaten squads in the conference after the opening week of play.  The Grizzlies outscored their opponents 10-4 on the week, notching a 2-1 win over Spalding, a 4-1 victory at Eureka, and a 4-2 decision at Knox.

Sophomore forward Natalie Downs (Westfield, Ind./Washington) was named the HCAC Player of the Week after leading the blue and gold to their best start in school history.  Downs scored five goals and added an assist during the victories, including a hat trick in FC's 4-1 win over Eureka.

Transylvania also holds a 3-0 record after week one, including two wins at the Centre College Showcase.  The Pioneers earned a road win against Kenyon before knocking off Asbury and Wooster at Centre College.

Transy sophomore Natosha Boden (Nicholasville, Ky./West Jessamine) netted a pair of game-winning goals last week.  Boden found the back of the net in a 2-1 overtime win at Kenyon and scored the go-ahead goal in a 4-1 win over Asbury.
