Hanover Ready to Host Bluffton in HCAC Women's Soccer Title Match

GREENWOOD, IN - The HCAC women's soccer title match has been set after today's thrilling play. No. 2 Hanover and No. 4 Bluffton advance to Saturday's title match at Hanover after posting victories this afternoon.
One semifinal saw top seed Earlham tangle with No. 4 seed Bluffton in Richmond. The Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 advantage and held on to defeat the host Quakers 3-2, earning BU its first ever appearance in a HCAC soccer final.
Freshman forward Taylor Fultz (Camden, Ohio) scored the first two goals for Bluffton as the Beavers held off an Earlham rally. The win was the first soccer postseason victory for the Bluffton men's or women's program.
No. 2 seed Hanover and No. 3 Transylvania battled to a scoreless tie Wednesday afternoon. The action turned to penalty kicks to determine who would face Bluffton in Saturday's title match.
The Panthers connected on four of their five penalty kicks in the shootout to hand the Pioneers a 4-2 defeat in the tiebreaker.
With the win, Hanover has earned the right to host Bluffton in the HCAC championship match at 2:00 PM Saturday. The winner will receive the HCAC's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.
