Women's Soccer Report (Week 7) - Panthers Improve to 3-0 in HCAC Play

GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College improved to 3-0 in conference action following a pair of wins last week.  The Panthers (9-3, 3-0 HCAC) shutout Earlham 7-0 on Tuesday and beat Manchester 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore forward Anna Cornacchione (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) scored five goals during the week to lead the Hanover offense.

Cornacchione registered her second career hat trick to lead Hanover over Earlham (4-7-1, 1-2 HCAC).  The sophomore added two more goals in a 4-1 win over Manchester Saturday. 

The Panthers have outscored their opponents 22-1 during their three conference wins this season.

Hanover is set to face Mount St. Joseph and Anderson on the road this week.

In other action...

Franklin College (7-2-2, 3-0 HCAC) also went 2-0 during conference play last week.  The Grizzlies slipped past Transylvania (2-11, 0-3 HCAC) 2-1 and blanked Defiance (2-11, 0-3 HCAC) 4-0 to keep pace with rival Hanover.   Freshman forward Clare Lenart (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) scored a goal and added two assists during the two victories.

Anderson University (7-4-1, 2-0-1 HCAC) remained unbeaten in conference play following a win and a tie last week.  The Ravens tied Bluffton (3-8-1, 0-2-1 HCAC) 1-1 after a pair of overtimes and beat Mount St. Joseph 1-0 on a goal from Taylor Hurley (Maryville, Tenn./Christian School).

Rose-Hulman (8-3, 2-1 HCAC) and Manchester (5-7, 2-1 HCAC) each earned a split to improve to 2-1 in conference action.  The Engineers bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Mount St. Joseph (4-8, 1-2 HCAC) to beat Transylvania 2-1 Saturday.  Manchester opened the week with a 3-0 win over Defiance before falling at Hanover.
