GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College remained perfect in league play and improved to 5-0 in conference action following a pair of wins last week. The Panthers (11-3, 5-0 HCAC) shutout Mount St. Joseph 8-0 on Wednesday and beat Anderson 8-0 Saturday afternoon.
Junior midfielder Rachel Alvis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) scored three goals and added two assists during the week.
Alvis registered her first career hat trick with three goals and an assist at Anderson Saturday. She also added an assist in the win over Mount St. Joseph Wednesday.
The Panthers have outscored their opponents 38-1 during their five conference wins this season.
Hanover is set to face Franklin and Rose-Hulman this week.
In other action...
Franklin College (8-2-3, 4-0-1 HCAC) went 1-0-1 during conference play last week. The Grizzlies tied Rose-Hulman 0-0 after two overtime periods and beat Bluffton 4-1 to remain unbeaten in HCAC play. Freshman forward Masey Bunn (Brownsburg, Ind./H.S.) scored two goals in the win over Bluffton.
Rose-Hulman (9-3-1, 3-1-1 HCAC) followed the scoreless draw with Franklin with a 1-0 overtime win over Manchester Saturday. Junior forward Kate DeMoss (Martinsville, Ind./Roncalli) scored the game-winner in the 94th minute of play.
Manchester (6-8, 3-2 HCAC) currently occupies the fourth and final spot in the race for the conference tournament. The Spartans earned a 5-0 win at Bluffton prior to the 1-0 loss to Rose-Hulman Saturday. Senior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind./H.S.) scored two goals and added an assist in the win over the Beavers.
