Women's Soccer Report (Week 5) - Grizzlies Cap Week with 2-0 Record

GREENWOOD, IN - The Franklin College women's soccer team improved to 4-2-2 on the season following wins over Spalding and Millikin last week. The Grizzlies will head to HCAC play riding a four match unbeaten streak.

Freshman forward Haley Lowe (Lawrenceburg, Ind./H.S.) scored two goals and added an assist during the week, while scoring the game-winning goal in each FC win.  The Grizzlies earned a 5-3 comeback home win over Spalding and blanked Millikin 1-0.

Franklin is set to open the HCAC schedule at home against Mount St. Joseph Saturday.

In other action...

Hanover College won its only contest during the week, posting a 2-1 win at Sewanee.  Sophomore forward Anna Cornacchione (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) scored both goals for the Panthers in the win.

Manchester was victorious at home over Wilmington, earning a 4-1 decision.  Four different Spartans scored in the win.

Anderson improved to 5-4 overall this season following a 2-1 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods.  The win ended a two game skid for the Ravens.

Bluffton earned its second win of the season, blanking Grace Bible 1-0 Wednesday.  The Beavers' lone goal was scored by Jo Bondra (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) in the 84th minute of play.
