Rose-Hulman Earns 100th Win in Women's Tennis Program History

GREENWOOD, IN - The 2011 women's tennis season kicked off with non-conference action last week. Defending conference champion Rose-Hulman defeated Thomas More and Oakland City to claim the 100th victory for the women's tennis program. The Engineers ended the week with a 5-4 setback to NCAA Division II member Kentucky Wesleyan.
RHIT defeated Thomas More 8-1, then topped Oakland City 6-3 for the historic 100th win.
The Engineers were led by sophomore Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis./H.S.) during the week of play. The sophomore finished a perfect 3-0 at the No. 1 singles position and compiled a 2-1 mark in doubles play, earning the conference's Player of the Week award.
Manchester and Transylvania each opened the year with a victory. The Spartans stand 1-0 after a 7-2 win over Goshen, while the Pioneers handed Brescia a 7-2 decision.
