
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule began last week for the women's tennis programs.
Franklin College sits atop the league standings after defeating Defiance 9-0 and Mount St. Joseph 8-1 last week.
The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers also sit at the top of the league with two wins over Defiance (9-0) and Earlham (8-1) to kick off their season. Junior Naomi Bhagat finished 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with Anna Thompson and 2-0 at No. 2 singles to lead Rose-Hulman last week.
Bhagat lost just one singles game in her two matches, winning 6-1, 6-0 against Defiance and 6-0, 6-0 at Earlham.
Hanover and Transylvania also picked up HCAC wins last week. The Panthers defeated Anderson 9-0 on Saturday, while the Pioneers shutout Manchester in a 9-0 victory.
