Rose-Hulman's Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) earned the No. 1 singles title and placed second at No. 1 doubles at the HCAC Individual Flight Tournament this past weekend and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the fourth time.
The senior won the No. 1 singles title for the fourth straight year with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Kelsey Fulkerson of Transylvania. Danesis and teammate Melissa Montgomery lost to the Anderson tandem of Alex Hammel and Jesse Rigby 9-7 in the No. 1 doubles championship.
Rose-Hulman earned the conference's No. 2 seed in the upcoming HCAC AQ Tournament this Friday.
