Kelsey Fulkerson, Transylvania University, Women's Tennis

Transylvania’s Kelsey Fulkerson (Lexington, Ky./Dunbar) opened the 2010 season with a perfect record at No. 1 singles and doubles against conference competition and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. 

The junior finished 2-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Sarah Ridley at No. 1 doubles to lead the Pioneers effort against Hanover and Earlham. 

Fulkerson posted a 6-0, 6-1 singles win against Hanover and defeated Earlham’s No. 1 player by the same score.  In doubles, Fulkerson and Ridley notched 8-0 wins against their competition. 

Transylvania (2-0, 2-0 HCAC) will travel to Franklin for a tri-match with the Grizzlies and Manchester Saturday.
