Women's Outdoor T&F Report (Week 2) - Panthers Win 1st Hanover Invitational Crown

GREENWOOD, IN - The Hanover College women’s track & field team won the 16-team Hanover Invitational for the first time in school history. The roster of teams competing included NCAA Division III, NCAA Division II and NAIA schools from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

Hanover's women’s team scored 140.5 points, while Campbellsville University (Ky.) was second with 127.50.

HC’s Rachael Moreland (Lawton, Mich./H.S.) reset her school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a first place time of 11:48.25. Moreland followed that effort with a second place time of 18:23.01 in the 5,000-meter run.

Franklin (5th), Manchester (7th), Transylvania (11th), Mount St. Joseph (14th), and Bluffton (15th) also competed at the meet.

Anderson University earned the team title at the AU Invitational Saturday.  The Ravens held off second place Thomas More and Earlham College in the standings.

AU’s Emily Radke (Columbia City, Ind./H.S.) paced the Ravens effort with three event victories. The sophomore posted wins in the discus (119’ 0”), shot put (38’ 4.75”), and hammer throw (116’ 0”).

Defiance College was also in action, placing 3rd overall at the Defiance Yellow Jacket Open on Friday.  The Jackets (102 points) finished behind second place Taylor (177) and champion Adrian (205).
