Women's T&F Report - HCAC Teams Compete Across the Midwest
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's indoor track and field teams traveled over the region last weekend.
 
Earlham College traveled to Wooster, Ohio for the Fighting Scots Invitational and placed fourth out of six teams. Sprinter Aishat Sadiq won the 60-meter dash at the invite, with a time of 8.08 seconds. The senior's 60-meter time currently ranks as the fastest time in the HCAC this season. Sadiq also took second in the 200-meter dash (27.82), and ran a leg for Earlham's first-place team in the 4x200m relay (1:49.34). Altogether, Sadiq contributed to 28 of Earlham's 115 points on the day between the individual and relay events. 
 
Rose-Hulman placed second out of seven teams at the Engineer Invitational on Friday night. Fightin' Engineer Lauren London placed first in the long jump while also breaking a six-year school record on Friday at the Engineer Invitational. The senior's leap of 5.47 meters ranks as the HCAC's best mark in the event this season. London also contributed two track event wins at the invite to help RHIT to a second place finish.
 
The Hanover women's indoor track & field team also attended the Engineer Invite on Friday and placed fifth in the field of seven.
 
On Saturday, Anderson and Franklin traveled to Defiance, Ohio to participate in the Defiance Invitational. Anderson placed sixth while Franklin and Defiance followed in the eighth and ninth slot. The Defiance Invitational served as a host preview for the upcoming HCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 16.
 
Capital University hosted the Jessica Starks Open over the weekend where Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania participated. The Pioneers finished in a tie for fifth, while the Lions placed eighth out of the field of 15 teams.
 
Also competing last week were Bluffton and Hanover at the Findlay Classic and Tom Hathaway Distance Classic, both teams did not post a team score.
