INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Three Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's outdoor track and field teams traveled to Lexington, Ind. last weekend to participate in the Transylvania Invitational.
The Hanover Panthers placed first out of the field of 18 teams with a point total of 123.5 at the event, while Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania claimed a eighth and 10th place finish, respectively.
Hanover junior Ariel Barlow claimed first place in the 3,000m steeplechase (12:03.72), a time that currently ranks 19th in NCAA Division III. Hanover's Erin Browning logged the HCAC's top shot put (11.75m) and hammer throw (49.32m) mark this past weekend at the Transylvania Invitational. The sophomore reset her own school record claiming first place in the hammer throw, a mark that ranks third in NCAA Division III.
Mount St. Joseph's Emma Roth claimed first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.50 at the Transylvania Invitational last weekend.
The Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman traveled to St. Louis, Mo. for the Washington University Invitational last weekend. Sophomore Cassie Utley placed in three field events over the weekend to help Rose-Hulman place seventh as a team.
Also competing last week were Bluffton and Defiance at the IWU Polar Bear Invitational, both teams did not post a team score.
