INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The College of Mount St. Joseph women's volleyball team will play its first match in the NCAA Division III Championship on November 12 when they travel to Emory University in Atlanta, GA for a first-round match in the NCAA Regional against Washington & Lee University at 5:30 PM.
The Lions, 22-10 overall and champions of the HCAC, and the Generals (27-6), a Pool C selection to the tournament, have played three times in their history, with the Mount holding a 2-1 series lead. Washington & Lee University defeated the Mount, 3-1, in 2008 at the Centre College Tournament.
A first-round win by the Mount would propel them to a match against top seed and host Emory University (31-4). Those two teams hooked up on September 5 of this season at the Maryville (TN) College Tournament with Emory posting a 3-2 win.
Cal Luthern (27-3), Southwestern (Tex.) (29-6), Thomas More (28-7), Hardin Simmons (21-7), and Piedmont (20-13) will also take part in the Emory Regional.
