INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The College of Mount St. Joseph women's volleyball team will play its first match in the NCAA Division III Championship on November 9 when they travel to Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois for a first-round match in the NCAA Regional against Washington-St. Louis.
The Lions (14-14), champions of the HCAC, and the No. 1 ranked Bears (29-3) will meet at 3:00 PM (CST) Friday afternoon.
Washington-St. Louis has won an NCAA Division III record 10 national championships, including most recently in 2009. The Bears are making their 26th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and are 91-16 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
This will be Mount St. Joseph's 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2010. The Lions have a 10-11 record all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
A first-round win by the Mount would propel them to a match against the winner of the Benedictine (IL) (30-4) vs. Chicago (28-10) match.
Wis.-Whitewater (25-11), Thomas More (26-5), Webster (24-9), and Elmhurst (29-7) will also take part in the Elmhurst Regional.
