GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College improved to 3-2 in HCAC action following a pair of wins last week. The Panthers (12-13, 3-2 HCAC) swept Earlham 3-0 and pulled out a 3-1 victory over Bluffton at home.
In the win over Earlham, senior Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind./H.S.) led the way with 14 digs and two service aces. Justus added 14 more digs and a pair of kills in HC's 3-1 win over Bluffton.
Freshman Rachel Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind./Zionsville) added a double-double against the Beavers, posting a team-high 15 kills with 12 digs.
Hanover currently sits fourth in the league standings with four games remaining on the schedule. The Panthers will host Franklin Wednesday and travel to Anderson on Saturday.
In other action...
Defiance (18-5, 5-0 HCAC) remained perfect in conference play, earning wins over Manchester and Franklin. In Wednesday's 3-0 sweep of Manchester, Alicia Kalik (South Lyon, Mich./H.S.) led the team with 31 assists, while adding five kills and 12 digs. The senior setter added 34 assists, 10 digs, three blocks, and an ace in a 3-0 sweep of Franklin Friday night. DC has won seven straight matches heading into this week's contests with Anderson and Rose-Hulman.
Transylvania (16-10, 5-1 HCAC) found the win column in its only action this week, defeating Franklin 3-1 on the road. Erin Hoffmann (Louisville, Ky./Eastern) led the Pioneers defense in the win, tallying a game-high 18 digs.
Mount St. Joseph remained one match back in the race for a league title. The Lions (12-15, 4-1 HCAC) beat Anderson 3-1 in league play, while dropping a pair of non-conference matches 3-2 to DePauw and Otterbein.
