Volleyball Report (Week 3) - Beavers Post 4-0 Mark at Allegheny Invite

GREENWOOD, IN - Bluffton University posted a 4-1 record during the week, including a 4-0 finish at the Allegheny Invitational. The Beavers earned wins over Buffalo State, Thiel, Albion, and Allegheny, while falling to Thomas More 3-2 earlier in the week.

Freshman Adrienne Shepard (Arlington, Ohio/H.S.) was selected to the All-Tournament Team at Allegheny after her superb play at the net. The freshman outside hitter finished the week with 44 kills and a .299 hitting percentage.

Bluffton improved to 6-6 on the season and will compete at the OAC-HCAC Challenge at Capital University this weekend.

In other action...

Defiance College finished 2-1 last week and continues to hold the best record in the league, standing 9-3 overall. The Jackets ended an eight-match losing streak to Heidelberg and earned a split at Hiram over the weekend.

Junior Alicia Kalik (South Lyon, Mich./H.S.) racked up a career-best 60 assists in DC's 3-2 road win over Heidelberg.  The effort shattered her old personal school record by 13.

Over the weekend, DC fell 3-2 to Hiram and slipped by Baldwin-Wallace 3-1. For the week, Kalik racked up 142 assists, 40 digs, and five kills in three matches.
