INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball schedule officially began last week.
The Rose-Hulman volleyball team defeated Manchester and Transylvania in straight sets to go 2-0 in HCAC play last week. Outside hitter Bailey MacInnis led the Fightin' Engineers offensive attack. The senior tallied 25 kills on 58 attacks for a .345 hitting percentage. Defensive specialist Katryna Dahlberg added 34 digs for an average of 5.67 digs per set.
Earlham garnered two wins last week against Denison and Manchester. The Quakers defeated the Spartans 3-1 at home on Saturday and have currently won four games in a row. Senior Ashleigh Burton added 31 kills in nine sets for a .419 attack percentage while leading Earlham's offense.
Anderson held off Mount St. Joseph in a tight 3-2 win to start the 2018 conference schedule. Defensive specialist Brooke Troyer anchored the Ravens defense last week. The freshman contributed 49 digs across eight sets for 6.13 digs per set.
The Bluffton women's volleyball team snapped Hanover's 27-match HCAC regular season win streak with a 3-0 triumph last weekend. Defensive specialist Brooke Kleman led Bluffton with 21 digs for 7.00 digs per set in the victory.
