Transylvania's Horne, Rose-Hulman's Dahlberg & Hanover's Ketcham Highlight Volleyball All-HCAC Selections

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Transylvania University's Jordan Horne (Louisville, Ky.) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Katryna Dahlberg (Hutto, Texas) have been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Most Valuable Players, respectively. Horne helped guide the Pioneers to an 8-1 conference record, while Dahlberg led the Fightin' Engineers to a 7-2 conference record this season.

Hanoer College's Kesley Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) claimed the HCAC Freshman of the Year, and Earlham head coach Lauren Horton picked up her first career HCAC Coach of the Year Award.

Horne played in 90 sets for the Pioneers this season, posting 350 kills per set and 315 total kills. The junior averaged 0.98 digs per set and 3.9 points per set during Transylvania's 26 matches. The Louisville, Ky. native contributed a .270 hitting percentage on 304 total attacks during HCAC matches this season.

Dahlberg, the Fightin' Engineers defensive specialist, was the backbone of the Rose-Hulman defense all season. The sophomore ranks second in the conference with a 5.88 digs per set average during conference play and posted a 5.80 average in all contests.  During Rose-Hulman's 31 matches, Dahlberg totaled 35 assists and 644 digs on the year to earn Defensive MVP honors.

Hanover's Ketcham averaged 4.07 assists per set in the 29 matches of her first collegiate season.  The freshman averaged 2.50 kills per set and recorded 2.80 digs per set during the season to earn Freshman of the Year accolades. In total, Ketcham tallied 270 kills, 440 assists, 302 digs and 45 blocks to average 2.9 points per set during the 2018 season.

Horton guided Earlham to the school's highest finish in the conference standings and finished the conference season with a 6-3 record and third place on the leaderboard. It is the first HCAC Coach of the Year honor for Horton during her tenure as head coach at Earlham College.
