Mackenzie Wieneke, Franklin College, Volleyball (Defense)

Franklin College’s Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) helped the Grizzlies to a 3-0 record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on defense for the second time. 

The sophomore defensive specialist tallied 61 digs over the three matches, including a high of 22 digs against IU-Kokomo.  The Seymour, Indiana native had 21 digs in a 3-0 sweep over Manchester in the team’s HCAC opener and added 18 digs in a 3-0 win over Spalding on Wednesday. 

Wieneke currently leads the HCAC with 318 digs this season. 

Franklin (10-6, 1-0 HCAC) will travel to Earlham on Wednesday evening.
