GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman, along with DePauw University and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, played host to the second Gibson Family Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
The Gibson Family Cross Country Invitational has been established to recognize the contributions of the Gibson Family to the sport of cross country. Greg Gibson graduated from Rose-Hulman in 1982 and is a member of the Fightin' Engineer Athletic Hall of Fame.
The meet featured 15 institutions and 112 total runners as the host Engineers placed tenth overall. Bellarmine won the meet with a team score of 22.
Rose sophomore Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont) led the Engineers with a 36th place finish, completing the 6K course in a time of 24:34.00.
Rose was the only HCAC institution competing over the weekend.
The upcoming weekend is the final weekend of action before the HCAC Championships on October 30 at Transylvania. Bluffton, Defiance, Earlham, Franklin, Hanover, Mount St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman, and Transylvania will all compete at the Wilmington Fall Classic Friday afternoon, while Manchester and Anderson will run at the Manchester Invitational Saturday morning.
