Women's Cross Country Report (Week 4) - DC Sweeps Competition at Bluffton

GREENWOOD, IN - The Defiance women’s cross country team accounted for each of the top-five overall times at the Bluffton Dual Meet on Friday, and posted a perfect team score of six at the event.  The Yellow Jackets have now earned the team title in two of three meets this year.

Kaitlin Switzer (Defiance, Ohio/H.S.) recorded the fastest time at the meet, completing the 3k course in 11:49.30 to lead the Yellow Jacket for the ninth-consecutive race.  The race also marked the second time in three meets this season that Switzer has claimed the individual title.

Bluffton was led by Lyndsey Darrow (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) at the meet.  The freshman completed the 3K course in a time of 12:50.11 to finish sixth overall.

Rose-Hulman was the only other HCAC school competing over the weekend.  The Engineers placed 13th out of 18 schools in one of the Midwest's top small college meets at Otterbein.

Sophomore Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont) led Rose-Hulman's performance with an eighth place finish.  Clauser posted the third-fastest time in school history with a mark of 19:09.

This weekend all 10 HCAC teams will hit the course.  Bluffton, Defiance, and Mount St. Joseph will run at the All-Ohio Championships Friday, while Anderson competes at Notre Dame.  Earlham will host Rose-Hulman at the Earlham Invitational, Manchester will compete at Lansing, and Franklin, Hanover, and Transylvania will run at the Louisville Fall Classic on Saturday.
