GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester University finished second among six schools at the Manchester Invitational over the weekend. The Spartans finished second behind champion Cornerstone in the team standings.
Senior Karla Madrigal (Elkhart, Ind./Central) finished third overall with a time of 23:14.1, leading three Spartans in the top 15.
Eight HCAC schools took part in the Wilmington Invitational on Friday afternoon. Hanover led the conference schools with an eighth place finish among the 33 competing squads.
Franklin's Hillary Cain (Rushville, Ind./H.S.) led all the HCAC runners at the meet, earning a fourth place finish among 340 runners. The sophomore posted a career-best 5K time of 18:13 at the meet to pace the Grizzlies.
Franklin earned a 14th place finish at the meet and was followed by Rose-Hulman (16th), Anderson (18th), Earlham (26th), Mount St. Joseph (28th), Defiance (30th), and Transylvania (32nd).
All squads will be off this weekend in preparation for the HCAC Championships on October 27 at Bluffton University.
